How To: The Perfect Breakfast

I do not own the rights to all the pictures used in this blog post

A good breakfast should fill you up just the right amount while also providing you nutrients and vitamins to boost your mood and keep you energized until your next meal. Today, I’ll be sharing just that!

Favorite Breakfast

I have experimented with my breakfasts many times to see what works best for my body, and apart from eggs, I have found just that. As a warning, I do remind you all that every body is different but this is what I feel best starting my day with personally, a yogurt bowl!

How to Make it

The best part about this yogurt is that it is customizable to your cravings and wants, but I’ll list below a few different ways to have them. Start off with your base, a good yogurt you enjoy. My personal favorites are the Chobani Honey Greek Yogurt or the Zoi Honey Greek Yogurt just because I have found they have less additives and gums. Then comes the fun part, your toppings. You can add up anything you would like, whether it’s fresh fruit, granola, chocolate, cookie dough, or nuts. My personal favorite is to first make a chocolate shell by melting some dark chocolate and coconut oil together and pouring it over top the yogurt in the fridge to let it harden for a few minutes. While that’s happening, I make a simple berry syrup by cooking down some strawberries and a few blueberries for 3-5 minutes and then pouring it atop by yogurt. Finally, I finish it off with some sliced fresh fruit and some granola. My favorite granola lately has been the Purely Elizabeth Chocolate Chip granola or the Purely Elizabeth Honey Almond granola simply because it is absolutely delicious while also having clean ingredients.

What Part of this is Good for You?

The yogurt itself is a great source of protein that will keep you feeling full, but not heavy throughout your day while also introducing good bacteria and probiotics to your system. If you decide to make the dark chocolate shell, dark chocolate is known to improve blood circulation, improve brain function, and supply powerful antioxidants. Fruit, whether as a syrup or fresh, provides a good amount of fiber to the body that will ensure that digestion comes much more easily. Finally, granola that contains nuts help control the blood sugar regulation and give a boost to energy, making for a delicious, yet healthy breakfast for your system!

Try out a yogurt bowl yourself and customize it to your preferences. Get creative, find yourself toppings you really enjoy, and please share them with me! I hope you all enjoy 🙂
