We are often told how important it is to use sunscreen to start our day and make sure our skin is hydrated first thing in the morning, but we often forget the power of hydrating our skin at night when it can soak up product the best. Today I’m going to share with you all my favorite moisturizer to use in the pm, and the difference it can make on your skin.
What is it?
It is none other than the CeraVe pm Nighttime Moisturizer! I will say, CeraVe has several different moisturizers so be sure that you pick up the nighttime one that says lightweight on it.
What are the Benefits?
There are several, but here’s three big ones:
Oil Free: this moisturizer is oil free, meaning it won’t cause you to wake up to a break-out if you have oily, sensitive, acne-prone skin like I do. It also means that this moisturizer is quite lightweight and seeps into the skin quickly, giving beautifully plump skin.
Gentle Hydration: this product contains niacinamide that calms the skin and gives a boost of hydration that does not irritate it. It also has hyaluronic acid that helps lock that moisturize in all night long.
3 Essential Ceramides: the three essential ceramides ( 1, 3, 6-ll) are all included in this moisturizer to help restore and maintain the skin’s natural barrier. Ceramides are also found naturally in the skin and make up about 50% of the lipids in the skin barrier, so this product works to enhance that further.
How Do I Use it?
To use this moisturizer, simply incorporate it into your nighttime routine as your last step. along with an eye-cream to follow. I use about two pumps for my whole face and I wake up with plump skin, but not feeling sticky or heavy on the face. You can use this in the morning, but even though it says lightweight, a light-weight moisturizer for the pm is much different than am, so you may feel a bit of heaviness on the skin.
