With Halloween fast approaching, many of us are preparing to host friends or attend parties of gatherings of our friends. Of course, we want to impress our guests and not show up empty handed to others, so today I’ll be sharing some cute and easy halloween theme treats you can whip up in minutes!
What Will We Be Making?
For the sake of efficiency and not making it too difficult, I’m going to share 2 different treats you can make. One is a spiderweb pretzel and the other is a ghost strawberry. Both are super quick and easy to make and can be customized or changed however you prefer!
What Do I Need?
- 1 bag of pretzel sticks
- Strawberries (organic if you can)
- 1 cup of semisweet chocolate chips or melts
- 1 cup of white chocolate chips or melts
- 2tbsp of coconut oil
- parchment paper
- toothpicks
- piping bag or ziplock bag
Strawberry Ghosts
To begin with, lay out your parchment paper on a baking tray or cutting board and wash your strawberries. As you leave your strawberries to dry, add in a cup or more of your white chocolate chips or melts to a bowl with a tablespoon of coconut oil and melt it in the microwave in 30 second intervals for about 2 and a half minutes, stirring between each interval. Then, dip a spoon into the chocolate mixture and make a streak on the parchment that resembles a ghost tail. All that’s left is to stick a toothpick in the strawberries, dip them in the white chocolate, and place on top of the previous smear to dry. This way it’ll stick onto it and form the tail. Simple melt some regular chocolate in the same way to add dots for eyes and a mouth and you’re done!
Pretzel Spiderwebs
Align your pretzel sticks on a parchment sheet of paper so there are 8 of them in the shape of a spiderweb for one single web. Then melt your cup of semi-sweet chocolate with a tablespoon of coconut oil by microwaving in thirty second increments, mixing in between, for 2 and a half minutes. Once melted, spoon it into a piping bag with a thin tip. If you don’t have a piping bag, let the chocolate cool slightly and pour it into a ziplock bag, cutting the tip to use. All that’s left is to circle around the pretzels with the chocolate to attach them together, starting from the center and reaching out only until 3/4 of the pretzel. Then you’re done!
Whether you are hosting a party or attending, try out these simple treats that will be a crowd hit because of how adorable they look and how great they taste!
