Powder-Puff History
Hundreds of powder puffs have been on the market now for quite some time, following the new trend of setting the face with them in order to achieve a more flawless, youthful look. Being the makeup obsessed girl I am, I have been on the hunt for the perfect powder puff for about a year now, never truly being satisfied. I tried different materials, sizes, shapes, you name it. Hyped up brands such as Kosas, Elf, Sephora Collection, and Beauty Blender, all made me excited, but each had issues that left me not totally satisfied.
Concerns
Here’s some of the common issues I found with several brands: – thick materials that would not bend to fit face shape – softer materials that would shed -material that would latch onto product and not distribute evenly -material that would lift makeup underneath during application
Here’s what my main goals where in finding the perfect powder puff:

Solution
As I was searching across amazon and sephora to buy a couple more options and see what worked or not, I received my package of these ANNA KAY puffs from amazon. I want to also preface this by saying that although I am part of amazon’s affiliate program, I bought these with my own money and have a whole collection of used ones that I put through multiple wear tests. Using these were actually amazing.
- They are incredibly soft and have the best thickness, allowing the puff to bend in accordance to the area and shape of the part of the face you are using it on.
- No shedding. At ALL. Because of how soft these were, I expected them to leave some shedding, but they pleasantly surprised me.
- Easy application: I put these through multiple wear tests and each time, almost no setting powder was left on the puff. It gave my base a gorgeous, airbrushed look and so far, has not lifted my makeup upon application even once.
- Reusable: These are so nice and easy to wash and reuse constantly, I’ve used three of them on rotation for a year now because they wash and dry like brand new. The only reason I get new ones is when I’m bored of the color
- It’s incredibly aesthetic. Let’s be honest, the look of a product matters just as much as its performance, so I got so incredibly excited to see the array of colors these are offered in. Whether you like a more girly feel or bright colors, they have something for every girl.
